Staffordshire Moorlands and Screen Staffordshire Become Official Partners

With the film office’s second year well underway, we’re pleased to announce Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has officially entered a service level agreement with Screen Staffordshire.

From the beginning of the film office’s three-year pilot programme, we have aimed to ensure that the film and tv sector receives a seamless service across the whole of the county. We know, from experience, the sector’s perception of borders differs significantly from those in local government; we also know that to enjoy the sector’s benefits, we must mirror and embody their approach.

Since day dot, Staffordshire Moorlands have worked closely with us – demonstrating a desire to understand how to serve the production sector and how it works, and to collaborate with Staffordshire County Council’s film office to bring our collective aims to life.

The service level agreement guarantees Staffordshire Moorlands will receive very healthy support from the film office in shaping their offer to the sector, and sets high standards of delivery and approach – unlocking huge potential for all parties.

The district shared some words with us on this momentous occasion:

“Staffordshire Moorlands District Council’s official partnership with Screen Staffordshire represents a landmark moment for both organisations. Here in the district, we have a real range of locations on offer to the UK Film and TV Sector; from the Peak District to chocolate-box villages, thriving market towns and rolling countryside. Indeed, some of this has already appeared on screen, and has been scouted by the UK Film and TV Sector via Screen Staffordshire since their official launch in 2025.

Production brings real opportunities for local employment, tourism, economic growth and enhanced placemaking. We look forward to working as closely with the film office as we already do with its wider We Are Staffordshire team, for the benefit of the district!”

Entering our service level agreement represents an even stronger tie between the district and the film office’s parent body, We Are Staffordshire – as exemplified at their 2025 Ambassador Event at the recently-refurbished Leek Market Hall.

The film office continues to work through service level agreements with each of the districts and boroughs that comprise Staffordshire, including the city of Stoke-on-Trent. Stay tuned for more good news on this across 2026!
